ALTERNATION<\/h3>\n<p>A time to recuperate after every posture.<br \/>\nBalance between postures in breath suspension after inhaling \/ after exhaling ; forward\/back bends ; internal\/external rotation ; abduction\/adduction.<br \/>\nSuch alternation re-establishes a balance of tensions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>2. PROGRESSION<\/h3>\n<p>Gradual progression, each session building upon the one before.<br \/>\nOnly one new posture to be introduced at a time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>3. NON-REPETITION<\/h3>\n<p>The posture is never repeated in order for the student to experience a heightened awareness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>4. BREATHING<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Between the postures:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2013 A time of silence ( the teacher should never \u00ab occupy \u00bb this space by speaking).<br \/>\n&#8211; A time for abdominal breathing.<br \/>\n&#8211; A complete breath, with a suspension after inhaling and an equal suspension after exhaling. The suspensions can be from one to sixteen seconds in length, but must be comfortable and effortless.<br \/>\n&#8211; Breath suspension during some postures, either after inhaling or after exhaling, and normal breathing during the others.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>5. THE END OF THE SESSION<\/h3>\n<p>&#8211; There is no formal relaxation lying down at the end.
